The SR Year 3 Social Studies Workbook is a dynamic, write-on resource that moves students into Level 2 of the New Zealand Curriculum. • Gathering Information: Practice in using different sources, such as photographs, maps, and oral stories from elders, to find out about the past.

• Perspectives & Values: Learning to recognize that people can have different points of view on the same event or place based on their background.

• Mapping & Geography: Developing intermediate mapping skills, including using a compass rose, understanding scale, and identifying New Zealand’s major geographic features.

• Social Action: Thinking about how individuals can contribute to their community, from local recycling initiatives to supporting school-wide events.
